Acer Liquid Gallant Duo vs HTC Desire V, the comparison is between two Android ICS droids. Second one has already arrived market few days back but the first one is yet to come. This comparison is not fully completed. So, let me tell you if you are in hurry the Desire V is definitely the option. You do not need to check the specs of the Gallant Duo as you may get tempted . Well, Gallant Duo is a powerful smartphone whereas Desire V is more like a conventional droid still fueled by single core processor. If you have the habit of mobile gaming or you want to experience it Gallant is the one you need. Otherwise, Desire V is fine; it looks cool, weights less and Beats Audio Sound System delivers pleasant music. Acer Liquid Gallant Duo is no way near to it in these segments. Dimension wise Desire V is thinner, smaller and light weight. Desire V weights just around 114 gm whereas Gallant Duo is bit bulky and weights around 145 gm. In big palms Gallant Duo fits nicely otherwise you are in trouble. Light weight, smaller Desire V is better in this segment. HTC Sense 4.0 UI is one of the best UI for Android 4.0 ICS and gives and edge to Desire V.

Both these droids are built on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform. No difference at all.
In this segment Acer Liquid Gallant Duo is miles ahead of HTC Desire V. You can easily understand two processor cores is better than single core. Desire V is running with a 1 GHz single core processor while Gallant Duos is fueled by dual core processor; clocking is still unknown but performance of Gallant Duos is definitely better. Additionally, Gallant Duo comes with 1 GB RAM which is double to Desire V’s 512 MB RAM.

Gallant Duo sports 4.3 inches TFT touch screen whereas Desire V has smaller display of 4.0 inches. Resolution support in Gallant Duo is 540×960 px which is smaller in comparison to Desire V’s 480×800 px display. Other display parameters are more or less similar in both these droids. Due to larger display size and higher resolution Gallant Duo wins this round.

Both these droid come up with 4 GB on board storage (actually it is less than that) and micro SD card slot expandable up to 32 GB. Nothing to separate between the duos.
Desire V and Gallant Duo both sport 5 MP rear facing auto focus camera with features like LED flash, Geo-tagging. Lack of secondary camera is an serious issue for many buyers. Both can work as camcorder but video recording in Gallant Duo is HD 720p which is better than Desire V. Nothing else to separate between these two.

HTC Desire V is launched with powerful 1650 mAh battery. Battery of Gallant Duos is still unknown. Let’s leave this segment out of this comparison.
Both these droids operate on dual band HSDPA network and quad band GSM network. GPRS/EDGE Class 12 can hit up to 296 Kbps speed in GSM network. 3G speed is unspecified. But I hope both can achieve up to 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA speed. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro USB are common local area connectivity options in both these dual sim droids. None support NFC connectivity.
Music, video players are common for both Desire V and Gallant Duo. Desire V has stereo FM Radio with RDS. This feature is yet to be confirmed for Gallant Duo. Both support MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC audio formats and MP4/WMV/H.264/H.263 video formats. None of these two droids has support for DivX and Xvid video formats. Gallant Duo comes with stereo speaker which is present in Desire v but Beats Audio Sound Enhancement in Desire V produce better sound quality which gives an edge to Desire V.

HTC Desire V is currently available in Indian market at Rs. 21,999. On the other hand price and release date of Acer Liquid Gallant Duo is still to be confirmed. Let’s put price out of this competition for the time being.
