Finally, Apple has announced the arrival of iPhone 5. You can check full specs of iPhone 5 here. Watching the specs the first question that comes in your mind is will iPhone 5 work on my carrier. This is a valid question as the device is having LTE support in selected regions. If you belong to the rest of the world you are not permitted to taste ultra-fast LTE in your handset.
Every time Apple includes something out of the ordinary in their smartphones (though LTE not a new feature now). On board LTE radio can hit up to 100 Mbps DL and 50 Mbps UL in many countries. Unfortunately, Indian is not in the list. Apple will start shipping iPhone 5 by 21st September. Pre-order will start a week earlier which means you can pre-order this lovely little device on or after 14th September. In USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong the product will start shipping by 21st September. If you are from the rest of the world you have to wait till 28th September.

Although Apple iPhone 5comes with on board LTE radio it works on selected countries as said earlier. Here are the selected carriers USA (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon), UK (Orange, T-Mobile), Canada (Bell, Rogers, Telus), Germany (Deutsche Telekom), Japan (KDDI), Australia (Telstra), Singapore (M14, SingTel), South Korea (Sk Telecom, KT), Hong Kong. Verizon Wireless, Sprint and KDDI are the only CDMA carriers in this list. Other carriers are all GSM. None of the Indian carriers have developed 4G FD LTE network so far. AirTel is having 4G TD LTE network which does not support global LTE band. No way, your iPhone 5 will not work in India.
