Intel Atom powered handsets will be getting Android 4.1 JellyBean upgrade soon. The leading computer chip manufacturer Intel, started manufacturing smartphones very recently. Intel launched Intel Atom Z2460 single core processor powered Orange San Diego in UK which is known as XOLO X900 in India. XOLO is shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread which is bit outdated at this point of time. We were aware that Android 4.0 ICS upgrade will be brought to these smartphones. Now Intel is looking to port the latest Android version, 4.1 JellyBean to it’s smartphones.
Intel Atom Z2460 Inside Smartphones Will Be getting Android 4.1 JellyBean
No doubt Intel is the leading computer chip manufacturer but it is yet to make any mark in smartphone market. So, Android 4.1 JellyBean porting seems to be a tactical move from Intel.
Intel may also start manufacturing smartphones powered by Windows Phone 8 OS. So far, chances seem to be very few as Microsoft is too choosy in selecting OEM partners. So far only ARM based CPU used in Windows Phones. If the situation doesn’t improve too much we will see more Intel Inside smartphones powered by Android OS.
