iPhone 5 to Feature Quad Core Qualcomm APQ8064A Chipset with Integrated LTE and Aderno 320 GPU

The first quad core LTE smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S III LTE is heading to South Korea possibly on 9th of this month. In the meanwhile we heard once again from Digitimes[cite id=1] about the new iPhone or iPhone 5. Hopefully, a quad core processor will run the next generation iPhone although it is still not clear who is manufacturing the quad core chip. Samsung, Qualcomm all in in the race.

Apple is testing quad core A6 chip manufactured by Samsung in their lab which seems not too different to the Exynos 4 series quad core chip already used in Samsung Galaxy S III I9300 global version. Qualcomm’s next generation quad core chip APQ8064A is also in consideration. Qualcomm is planning to make their next generation quad core chip with integrated multi carrier LTE support and on board Aderno 320 GPU. HTC One XXL[cite id=2] is in the list to run the next generation Qualcomm’s processor.
