In a press conference in Seoul LG’s Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications announced the arrival of the handset in Korean market. Hopefully, by next month it will be made available in all major marketplaces. This is the first handset to feature quad core Krait architecture. Qualcomm’s all new MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset will run this device. Previously, the news was Optimus G will pack Android 4.1.1 JellyBean out of the box. Brilliant 4.7 inch TrueHD IPS LCD display with impressive resolution support of 1280×768 pixels at 318 ppi ensures razor sharp display quality. Built on Optimus 3.0 UI, Optimus G will be marketed with 2 gigs of RAM. It will be available in 2 variants based on primary camera, global variant will be equipped with 8 MP camera while the Korean variant packs 13 MP camera. May be the US and Canada versions will boast 13 MP camera. LG is claiming this phone uses best technologies available in market. Perfectly optimized hardware ensures longer battery life. Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery lasts longer than usual. LG Optimus G boasts on board LTE radio and quad core chipset together. That makes the price bit higher $894 USD or 999,900 KRW.
Tomorrow, on September 19th one more event will be held in New York. Hopefully, that event will confirm US release date of this premium handset. Couple of US carriers already expressed their interests in this handset. Canada is in the list as well. Wait for few more hours.
