Kobean launched a new 5 inch phablet, Mercury MagicQ under the brand Mercury. It’s a dual sim smartphone that features 5 inch touch screen display. The company referred it as tablet but I think it’s a phablet, hybrid of smartphone and tablet. Samsung has it’s Galaxy Note (Note 2 will be coming soon), LG is planning is release Optimus Vu in September. Kobean worked hard to limit the price less than Rs. 13k which means it’s cheaper than other tablets by a fair margin.
Mercury MagicQ comes with 2 sim card slots. It’s the first phablet in market to feature dual sim card slots (Viewsonic Viewphone 5e is the first phablet announced in MWC 2012, no information so far about the release).
Surprisingly, Android ICS powered Mercury MagicQ sports 12 MP camera which is too impressive in deed. MagicQ has the best camera in it’s segment. It also features a VGA front facing camera. Other feature like 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4 GB storage, 512 MB RAM, micro SD card slot are common features.

We are yet to know the battery size but the company promises the battery will last for 15 days by providing 13 hrs of talk time. I guess the battery is really a giant one. I like the Kobean Mercury MagicQ and Micromax A100, however just confused with the phones.
Kobean is new brand launched in India, if there is any problem with the phone, then whom do i show for servicing or technical fault issues. I’m not sure if Kobean has a service center in Mumbai.
Mercury is having service center in Mumbai. You can call service center at + 91 – 22 – 32160234 or meet directly to Room No. 32/83 2nd Floor, Shree Ganesh Bhuvan, Grant Road(E), Mumbai – 400 007. I guess this will solve your problem. I suggest first ask them for service before you purchase the phone. I agree with you, Kobean Mercury MagiQ has attractive specs.
