Micromax Superfone A100 Canvas vs Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562

Micromax Superfone A100 Canvas vs Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562-Recently Indian smartphone market has been flooded with some low cost, feature rich smartphones. Interestingly all these phones can house two sim cards. Several Indian smartphone vendors i.e. Micromax, Karbonn, Spice have come up strong with quality pieces of smartphones. Micromax recently brought two quality smartphones, Superfone A100 Canvas and Superfone A90 Pixel. Canvas has huge 5 inch touch screen and is termed as phablet rather than a smartphone. However, Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 is more traditional and sports 4.0 inch TFT Capacitive touch screen. Unlike, other dual sim phones Galaxy S Duos packs dual sim support and Android 4.0 ICS out of the box. To keep Samsung in news an Android 4.0 loaded dual sim smartphone was much necessary for the South Korean vendor. HTC already released couple of ICS running droids Desire V, Desire VC in market. Anyway, in this post I will compare Galaxy S Duos S7562 (specs of Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562)  and Micromax Superfone A100 Canvas (specs of Micromax Superfone A100 Canvas).

Both these droids are currently running with single core processor. A dual core version of Superfone Canvas is already in news. Currently, you have nothing to separate the duos. In camera segment both the dual sim droids boast 5 MP rear and VGA front facing shooter. The battery used in Canvas is also bigger in size. Take a look at the comparison table-

Final Conclusion- Micromax A100 Canvas or Galaxy S Duos

You can see Micromax Superfone A100 Canvas has better specs. It has bigger display and more powerful battery. I do not see any reason of picking Galaxy S Duos S7562 over A100 just because of branding factor. Galaxy S Duos is yet to start shipping in market. Price is Rs.17,900 which is almost double to what Canvas costs. That means you can get two Canvas, one for you another one for your dear one in that price. :) Just kidding! You can check out Spice MI-500 Stellar Horizon (specs of Spice MI-500 Stellar Horizon), Wammy Note (specs of Wammy Note) or Mercury MagiQ (specs of Kobean Mercury MagiQ) that are available with attractive specs in competitive price. Micromax is planning to release a dual core Canvas by the end of September which means you will find more positive points in it. Go and get one Canvas for you!

    Hi Manidip,
    Thanks for ur review,
I am also impressed and decided to go for the A100 since long back. But the problems faced by some of the users and due to unavailibility of the phone in market, i m disappointed little. my question is from where u came to know that the Dual core version of A100 is coming? Is it possible to do the same in such a little time for Micromax? If it is true, i will surely buy it…
Please confirm the same and when it will come in market….
    Eagerly waiting for…..
    Regards,

    • @Dinest, thanks for your feedback. Yes, I can see all major online retailers have tagged A100 in out of stock list. You may try off line retail outlets if it’s convenient to you. MediaTek’s dual core MT6577 will be used in couple of Micromax smartphones. Possibly that’s why they have withdrawn single core variant from market.

Micromax A100 has been very successful since it’s arrival. I guess, there is no other reason of withdrawing A100 from market when it is doing well. Excessive demand may be a reason but I think an upgraded version is in their mind.

Also in a recent press conference MediaTek announced that Micromax is working on 3 smartphones with MT6577 SoC. One handset was A90. Changes are high that between other two one is A100 Canvas. It’s my assumption. I suggest, if you are not in hurry wait till the end of this month. Dear Sir,
Your analysis was impressive. Even i had moved my self to buy A100. But its not available in stores till date i.e. 10/9/2012. how long should it will take???
some shopkeeper are also telling that the mobile had some problem, many pieces where coming for replacement.

    is it true ????
should we really trust the quality of micromax A100? even if it hits now in the market???
please reply. i am waiting for this phone to come in my hands but i hope it does not disappoint me and my family as they are all samsung crazy.

    • Thanks for your appreciation Paresh. I am glad the comparison is useful to you. Yes, the phone is currently out of stock in all major online retailers. You can try off line retailers. May be next lot of A100 will reach retailers soon. I do not think Micromax have withdrawn the product from market intentionally. To be honest, I am not sure about this manufacturing complaint but I will definitely take a close look at the issue as so far I think it’s the best smartphone for less than Rs. 10k.

Samsung, no doubt ensures better performance, at least promises if not the same always. Manufacturing defect may cause issues in any electronics gadget. Do not worry about that too much. Galaxy S Duos is good pick especially when you have the budget of close to Rs. 18k. It comes with smart dual sim feature where you can accept calls in both sim cards at the same time. Only data connection is allowed in one sim at a time.

Share your experiences when you buy a new handset, be it Galaxy S Duos or something else.

  3. Hey. By compare this two phone micromaxA100 is looks better according to price but what about the touch. A100 has good touch compare to samaung s? Otherwise a100 really have good specs.

    • Both feature TFT Capacitive touch screen display with touch sensitive controls. You can expect both to offer similar touch sensitivity. Though both support 480×800 px resolution in case of brightness and contrast Galaxy S Duos is slightly better than Micromax A100 Canvas due to higher pixel density in display. Otherwise, these two models are very much similar.
