Once again Micromax is in news! A new low budget dual sim droid pops up from the house of Micromax. It’s Micromax Superfone A80 Infinity. It’s slightly thicker; measures 13.5 mm thickness. A80 operates on GSM and high speed 2.75G EDGE network and features 3.75 inches of TFT Capacitive touch screen display which is pretty impressive. Whooping 2500 mAh battery is used in A80 which promises to deliver up to 12 days of standby time and 7 hours of talk time.
Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread running Micromax Superfone A80 Infinity is powered by 800 MHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. Seamless multitasking and improved performance are ensured. It would have been great to have a multi-core processor. I understand, less than Rs. 10k price is too few for a multi-core processor. May be MediaTek’s Dual Core MT6577 Chipset will fulfill my wishes. Anyway, A80 sports dual camera; primary camera is a 5 MP one with flash and secondary camera is a VGA one, quite useful for video calling.

Disadvantages of Micromax Superfone A80 Infinity
Before I point out disadvantages of Micromax A80 I must admit that this is a pocket friendly feature phone that comes with marathon 2500 mAh battery. Since price is going to be somewhere around Rs. 6000/- we have to make ourselves adjusted with couple of things.
- Screen resolution is poor
- No 3G support
- Processor lacks GPU
- Just 800 MHz processor
- Too weighty, 178.5 gm is simply overweight
