Nokia Lumia 800 is good looking, slim, fully touch supported, Windows 7.5 Mango driven Smartphone from Nokia on the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Note is a gigantic Smartphone which is more like a tab in the true sense of the term. Samsung Galaxy Note is more powerful in every aspects but bit awkward in shape. Nokia Lumia 800 is the first Windows Smartphone from Nokia and more like a flagship by the company. Samsung Galaxy Note is the upgraded version of Samsung Galaxy S II and size of this Smartphone makes it little bit hectic. Now lets’ take a look at the comparison table of these two extra ordinary Smartphones-

1. Design and Looks
Design is the first thing most people consider and in this area Samsung Galaxy Note falls behind Nokia Lumia 800. Lumia 800 is stylish, sleek and fits in pocket perfectly. But Galaxy Note requires larger pocket or rather more likely to be kept in external cases or bags. It is very much like a tablet PC. Note is having a mammoth dimension of 147x83x9.7 mm whereas Lumia 800 is having much compact dimension 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm. There is also major difference in weight of these two Smartphones i.e. Lumia 800 weights 142 gm. whereas Galaxy Note weights 173 gm. which is way heavy in normal circumstances.
2. Display Size and Type
Super AMOLED Plus display is used in both these models. So there is is no difference in case of display type but there is significant difference in display size; Samsung Galaxy Note has a wider display i.e. 5.3 inches where as Nokia Lumia 800 has much smaller display of 3.7 inches.

Nokia Lumia 800 is the first ever Windows Smartphone from the company and it is built on Windows 7.5 Mango platform. On the other hand Samsung Galaxy Note is Android 2.3 Gingerbread driven Smartphone. Android is the best operating system for mobile devices so you can say Galaxy Note gets an edge over Nokia Lumia 800.
3. Processor
Both uses 1.4 GHz processor! But Galaxy Note uses 1.4 GHz dual core ARM Cortex A9 processor whereas Nokia Lumia 800 uses 1.4 GHz Scorpion Qualcomm MSM8266 Snapdragon processor. Dual core is way better than single core processor and makes multitasking smoother and better. Additionally, 1 GB of RAM is used in Galaxy Note whereas Lumia 800 comes with 512 MB of RAM.
4. Camera
Same 8 MP primary camera is used in the two Smartphones. Additionally, LED flash, auto focus, auto face detection, smile detection, Geo-tagging features are facilitated. But Samsung Galaxy Note comes with 2 MP secondary camera for video calling but Nokia Lumia 800 does not have any secondary camera at all. Video recording quality in case of Galaxy Note at 1080p@30 fps is better than 720p@30 fps in case of Lumia 800.
5. Memory
Both comes with internal 16 GB of memory but once again Nokia Lumia 800 falls behind Samsung Galaxy Note as it does not have any micro SD card slot. Memory can not be upgraded but in case of Galaxy Note memory can be extended by inserting micro SD card in right slot up to 32 GB.
6. Network and Connectivity
Lumia 800 is built for 2G and 3G network but Samsung Galaxy Note can be used in 4G LTE networks too. Apart from that both comes with GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, HSUPA, Bluetooth, micro USB port, Wi-Fi hotspot. NFC technology is inbuilt in case of Samsung Galaxy Note but Nokia Lumia 800 does not support NFC connectivity.
7. Battery
Samsung Galaxy Note comes with 2500 mAh Li-Ion battery that provides 960 hours of standby time, 26 hours of talk time in 2G network and 820 hours of standby time and 13 hours of talk time in 3G network.On the other hand Nokia Lumia 800 uses Li-Ion 1450 mAh BV-5JW battery that provides 265 Hours of standby time in 2G network and 335 hours in 3G network and 13 hours of talk time in 2G network and 9.5 hours in 3G network.
8. Price
Samsung Galaxy Note is priced Rs. 32800 in India whereas Nokia Lumia 800 is having little bit cheaper price of Rs. 29900 in India.
Verdict
Apart from gigantic size you can see Samsung Galaxy Note beats Nokia Lumia 800 in every aspects. I will also go with Galaxy Note as I prefer power more than anything else in a Smartphone. Now you need to decide which one to buy.
