Nokia Lumia 820 is unveiled with Lumia 920 flagship Windows Phone 8 handset. Though Lumia 820 is running on Windows Phone 8 OS in terms of features it is far behind Lumia 920. Dual core 1.5 GHz Krait Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 chipset and Aderno 225 GPU generates enough power in presence of 1 GB of RAM to run multiple applications at a time. No PureView technology is adopted in this handset. Nokia went for AMOLED display powered by Nokia ClearBlack technology in this handset. Though display supports 480×800 pixels resolution it shows just 217 ppi pixel density in display. The WP8 handset is 4G LTE enabled and can achieve up to 50 Mbps UL, 100 Mbps DL. In 3G network the handset can hit up to 42 Mbps HSDPA speed as well.

Unlike Lumia 920, Lumia 820 comes with micro SD card slot expandable up to 32 GB. That allows you to increase internal memory of 8 GB to few more GBs. It sports 8 MP Carl Ziess Teaser lens rear facing shooter. No PureView imaging technology is used here but the camera is awesome. F/2.2 aperture is certainly better than many 8 MP shooters. The camera also comes with dual LED flash, auto focus, face detection, smile detection and more features. Front facing VGA camera for video calling is present in this handset too.
Nokia Lumia 820 will be available in several colors i.e. Black, Gray, Red, Yellow, White, Blue, Violet and interchangeable back cover. Li-Ion 1650 mAh BP-5T battery is used in this handset which promises to deliver up to 330 hrs of standby time and 14 hrs of talk time in GSM network. Overall weight of the handset is in the higher side; it weights about 160 gm although the thickness is measured to be just 9.9 mm.

Nokia Lumia 820 Release date
Nokia is yet to officially announce the release date of the Windows Phone 8 handset. Hopefully, it will be available in all major marketplaces.

Price of the WP8 handset is still an unknown factor. You can expect it to be around Rs. 30,000/- in Indian currency or around $550 USD in USA.
