Much awaited Aakash 2 Android tab is ready to hit Indian market as reported by Hindustantimes. HRD Minister Kapil Sibal told to press on Tuesday Aakash 2 will be coming in market as soon as the testing process gets over. The manufacturer of the tab Datawind submitted 100 pieces of the tab to IIT Bombay for testing purpose. Indian HRD ministry already given green signal to the device. It will be officially unveiled shortly after the testing process. “Unlike other tablet devices, Aakash can also be used to create computer programs, in Python, C, C++ and Scilab” Mr. Sibal added later on.

Datawind CEO Sunit Singh Tuli said “The government has approved the specifications”. The launch date is yet to be confirmed but you can expect it by the first week of July. Aakash 2 is coming in market after some performance upgrade. First Aakash tablet was priced Rs. 2276/- although the subsidized price was half of that price. Price of Aakash 2 is yet to be announced but you can expect it to be somewhere around the same price. Datawind also assured that they will bring the tablet once they produce it in good numbers. Production has been an issue for these low cost tablets. Now, it is interesting to see how Datawind deals with the problem in case of their upcoming tablet.
