Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos is the latest dual SIM Smartphone from the company. This phone operates on CDMA and GSM network; one SIM operates on CDMA and other one on GSM network. Dual SIM active is the best feature you will find in this phone. On the other hand, LG Optimus Net Dual is a proven dual SIM Smartphone with quality features in it. It only operates on GSM network and SIM works on 3G HSDPA as well. Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos comes at 200 Euro or Rs. 13899/- whereas Optimus Net Dual is little bit cheaper and comes around 150 Euro or Rs. 10500/- in India. There are differences between these two models and hopefully both these phones can meet your needs.
1. Design & Looks
LG Optimus Net Dual is smaller, thinner and lighter. It comes with dimension of 114 x 59 x 12.1 mm and weight of 102 gm whereas Ace Duos comes with little bit bulky size; 112.4 x 59.9 x 12.5 mm dimension and 122 gm of weight.
2. Operating System & Processor
Both these Smartphones are built on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and powered by 832 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset processor. No graphics processor available in any of these phones.
3. Display
Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos comes with larger display size; it comes with 3.5 inches TFT Capacitive touch screen display with maximum resolution support of 320×480 pixels. In contrast to that Optimus Net Dual comes with little bit smaller 3.2 inches TFT Capacitive touch screen display and supported resolution is 320×480 px. Integrated accelerometer, proximity sensor available in both models.
4. Camera
Galaxy Ace Duos and Optimus Net Dual both comes with poor 3.2 MP camera with mere features like Geo-tagging. Secondary camera not available in any model. You can record video in both models. No LED flash for better photo shooting is available in any of these models.
5. Memory
Micro SD card available in both models and can house up to 32 GB of memory.
6. Network & Connectivity
Galaxy Ace Duos operates on 2G CDMA 800 / 1900 and GSM 900 / 1800 and 3G CDMA2000 1xEV-DO network. Apart from high speed GPRS/EDGE this phone can achieve maximum speed of Rev. A 3.1 Mbps. In contrast to that LG Optimus Net Dual supports quad band GSM and dual band 3G network. Both SIMs work on GSM network but only SIM 1 operates on 3G network. You can achieve up to 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA speed in 3G network. Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, micro USB are useful for local area connectivity. Both of these phones have access to A-GPS navigation.
7. Battery
Optimus Net Dual comes with 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery and provides more than 330 hours of standby time. Galaxy Ace Duos enjoys more powerful 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery and expected to come up with better back up and standby time.
8. Price
Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos is available at 200 Euro or Rs. 13899/- in India whereas LG Optimus Net Dual is way cheaper; it comes around 150 Euro or Rs. 10500/- in India.
Verdict
I have not seen much difference in these models but quite surprised seeing the difference in price. Samsung Galaxy Ace is one of the best selling Smartphones ever. You must believe Ace Duos is just an upgrade to that model and it is causing the difference in price. But my bet will be LG Optimus Net Dual.
