Galaxy Note is bigger in length but smaller in width to Optimus Vu. It is difficult to hold a wide phone easily with one hand. Optimus Vu wins this round of comparison.

You can see both these droids are very close to each other. Samsung Galaxy Note wins in display, camera, battery and memory segments while Optimus has powerful processor, better sound quality, less weight form factor and integrated NFC chip. The comparison is very close. Galaxy Note mainly falls behind LG Optimus Vu in processor segment but let me tell you couple of Cortex A9 cores along with Mali 400-MP GPU can serve multiple processes at a time with ease. Not much to worry about. I think Samsung Galaxy Note is still better choice for you.
