Individual Hardware Specs Difference Analysis

Design & Looks

Galaxy Note is a gigantic smartphone that comes with mammoth size 146.9 x 83 x 9.7 mm and weights too high 170 gm. In comparison to that Galaxy S III is smaller and light weight as well.

Operating System

Samsung Galaxy S III straight away getting Android v4.0 ICS. On the other hand, Galaxy Note primarily got Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Now upgrade to ICS is available for Note. ICS is much improved and advanced as compared to Gingerbread. So no difference.

Processor

Galaxy S III is powered by 1.4 GHz quad core Cortex A9 processor and Exynos chipset whereas Galaxy Note uses dual core 1.4 GHz Cortex A9 Exynos chipset processor. You can Galaxy S III is twice as powerful as Galaxy Note. Both uses Mali 400-MP GPU unit.

Display

Galaxy Note boasts of 5.3 inches Super AMOLED display. Galaxy S III features little bit smaller 4.8 inches Super AMOLED display. Note beats S III easily with it’s larger display. S III delivers slightly better and vivid display because of dense pixels per inch. Samsung TouchWiz v4.0 UI is used in both these droids. Not much to compare here.

Storage

Both these droids come with 1 GB RAM for fast and smooth multitasking. Note comes with 16/32 GB storage model but S III comes with 16/32/64 GB storage models. You can say more storage facility is available with S III. Additionally, Note has micro SD card support up to 32 GB whereas Galaxy S III can house up to 64 GB on board storage which is more than any smartphone till date.

Camera

Both these droids feature 8 MP primary camera, 2 MP secondary camera and HD video recording at 1080p. Galaxy S III comes with couple of advanced camera segments. Basically, no difference.

Network & Connectivity

Galaxy S III has LTE support that Note lacks. Otherwise, both can hit up to 21 Mbps HSPA+ speed in 3G network. Other features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, micro USB with MHL link everything is similar.

Battery

Galaxy S III comes with 2100 mAh Li-Ion battery whereas Note comes with bigger 2500 mAh Li-Ion battery. But S III has more back up and standby time in comparison to Galaxy Note.

Price
Samsung Galaxy S III is costlier than Galaxy Note. Galaxy S III is yet to ship in market while Galaxy Note is currently available in market. The price of Galaxy Note is Rs. 32,700/- whereas Galaxy S III is going to be priced at Rs. 39,990/-.

Final Conclusion

I do not see too many that go against Note in comparison to Galaxy S III. Note is cheaper than Galaxy S III as well. Size is the major concern in this comparison. So, if you can somehow manage Note in your pocket or side-bag I would prefer Note over Galaxy S III.
