It is Samsung again! No droid this time. It’s true. Samsung rolls back to Windows! It has been a long time since Samsung released a Windows device. Samsung Omnia W was the last device from Samsung to have Windows 7.5 Mango as operating system. In the meanwhile Samsung released number of Android driven Smartphones, upgraded some droids to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Now Samsung is focusing on Windows 8 and decided to release Windows 8 powered Samsung Apollo. The WP is expected to arrive market by October.
Nokia so far have sold over 2 million high end Windows Phones since last October. Few days ago Nokia announced the first Windows Phone Nokia Lumia 610 to have integrated NFC chip. Lumia 610 is also going to be the cheapest WP. But Samsung is reluctant in this platform and I do not think they are aiming too much on Windows 7.5 Mango. Now Samsung Apollo with Windows 8 may get them the start they are looking for. AT&T is interested in bringing another WP Samsung Mandel just after the release of HTC Titan II and Nokia Lumia 900.
