Sony Starts ICS Roll Out for Xperia Sola, Xperia Go & Xperia U

Today Sony Mobile announced that Xperia Sola, Xperia U and Xperia Go will be getting Android 4.0.4 ICS soon. ICS roll out starts today and within next couple of weeks the users from all over the world will get this upgrade. ICS upgrade will certainly improve performance of these handsets. When Samsung is looking to promote it’s droids to latest Android version v4.1.1 JellyBean this ICS roll out from Sony looks a bit of surprise. Even upcoming flagship Sony Xperia T is packing Android 4.0.4 ICS instead of JellyBean. Here are some upgrades Sony is expecting it’s droids to feature the following after this ICS roll out-

  • Extended standby mode, increasing standby time by up to four times (depending on user-profile and data consumption)
  • Lock screen with improved functionality
  • Resizable widgets for improved personalization
  • Improved control of your mobile data consumption
  • Recent Apps button for a clear overview of your applications

Apart from these Sony Xperia Sola will get ‘Glove Mode’ feature that will allow you to use touch screen wearing gloves. In cold regions this upgrade will prove to be very effective.
