Zen Ultratab A100 is the new tablet PC brought to market by Zen Mobiles. It’s the first tab from the company! This Ultratab from Zen is just around 10.5 mm thick and weights around 295 gm which are pretty impressive. In hardware segment apart from 1.3 MP front facing camera you will find nothing special. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich powered Ultratab A100 is fueled by 1.2 GHz single core processor. 512 MB RAM is too few to be honest but one thing I must admit, hardware has to be compromised to make the tab cheaper.
Zen Ultratab A100 features 7 inch TFT Capacitive touch screen display with native resolution support of 800×480 pixels. On board 4 GB of storage and micro SD card slot expandable up to 32 GB allows you to store plenty of files in it. Like Micromax Funbook, Karbonn Smart Tab 1 Zen A100 lacks 3G support. But you can use 3G USB dongles in it. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi is there for local area connectivity. Li-Ion 2800 mAh battery is used in this tab. According to the company report the tab lasts long; really long. 14 hrs of normal usage is impressive but I do not think it will happen in any case.
A100 comes preloaded with Readers Hub and Music Hub applications. These apps make it easier for you to read e-newspapers,browse e-books or listen to millions of songs without much effort. Web browsing is impressive as the tab comes with HTML5 and Adobe Flash 10 support.

Final Impression
I do not think Zen Ultratab A100 is a bad option for tab lovers. We have seen Micromax Funbook and Karbonn Smart Tab 1 doing exceedingly well with similar specs. Let’s hope Zen shares the market share with other two Indian vendors. I will compare the tab with Micromax Funbook and Karbonn Smart Tab 1 and publish the report soon.
